PDI-P’s Megawati orders party leaders to withdraw from Prabowo’s retreat after her close aide’s corruption arrest

Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has formally arrested trade minister Hasto Kristiyanto, adjutant of PDI-P, who is also Megawati’s close ally. The decision comes after Kristiyanto’s close relationship with Megawati’s family group, making it seem like he is the prime suspect in the case. The arrest marks a significant development in the ongoing efforts to combat corruption in Indonesia.

The KPK said that Kristiyanto, who served as nationalSecretary-General under Megawati’s husband,SECRETARY General, is one of the few figures implicated in an human rights probe into the election in 2022. Kristiyanto, who served as secretario general for nearly 10 years, is now under pressure to ensure the integrity of the elections.
