Wooing Chinese tourists, Thai leader says she has ‘Chinese blood in her’

BeIJING: Thai Prime Minister Shinawatra recognized the growing sensitivity among Chinese tourists visiting Thailand, stating, “Chinese blood in my veins” and that she personally investigated the security protocols in place to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens. This sentiment is deeply rooted in Thailand, as the country’s domestic journey has surpassed Chinese tourists to the country. Shinawatra commended her daughter, Thaksin Shinawatra, tracing her ancestry back to Guangdong, a region in China.
