The Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority is conducting the 100-day review of Olympic infrastructure, focusing on the development and updates of venues and facilities to ensure a seamless and inclusive Olympic experience. While the stadium hosted Melbourne Tables AFL (AFL Cairns) and hosted first-class cricket matches (including Tests), it did not meet the previous football hosting requirement for Brisbane 2032. The proposed upgrades include larger venues, facilities for specific sports (such as tennis and golf), and improvements to the gaming area and seating, though critical funding and planning have been addressed in Cazalys’ submission.

  • Barlow Park: Barlow Park in Brisbane was initially designed to host football during the [[2028]] Olympics, but was later deemed an unsatisfactory site for generating enough funding for the bid. The development plan for a new יהAd ninety meters stadium, South Ollie Manufacturing Park (SOMP), has been implemented, with plans to further develop Barlow Park as a training and spectator venue, prioritizing Cairns as a host city for upcoming events, and ensuring regional accessibility for displaced communities.

The venue would benefit regional growth by hosting major international sports events while encouraging children in northern Queensland to participate in emph{2032} through the WTEC.

Gender diversity and creative innovation are areas of focus:

  • To promote diversity and create opportunities for all, the Games Independent Authority is seeking additional emph{ almations} as part of public consultation. The submissions emphasize the importance of gender diversity in the重现 and resilience for regional areas.

  • A $109 million investment has been approved for emph{Barlow Park} to host a broadcasted professional football event, addressing the delay caused by emph{Barlow’s} project.
