Summit County Rescue Group (SCRG), who assisted in providing support during rescue, utilized snowmobiles and

“vegetimately” in his lower body despite survival rates typically reported at 15 minutes or less in avalanches. VAS suggested that surviving in the snow requires teamwork, knowledge of tools, and adherence to safety protocols.
The man’s survival after being buried for over an hour and five minutes is considered “record-breaking” and underscores the challenges of avalanche recovery.
