The Canadian Border Force (BCBF) has deployed its first Black Hawk helicopter to the Canadian border with the United States (US), in an effort to enhance their surveillance and response capabilities at the於 B.C., previously known for having the largest air service fleet and a strategically positioned fleet of both rotary (helicopter) and fixed-wing aircraft. The officer in charge of border protection for the Pacificregion, Bernhard Ferreira, highlighted the importance of the aircraft for their role in conducting routine border exercises and ensuring the security of border fencing and other critical infrastructure. “These capabilities will allow us to immediately detect and respond to potential anomalies in real-time, ensuring that border security remains proactive and effective,” he said.
Moreover, the team is emphasizing the role of the Black Hawk helicopter in centralising its monitoring operations across multiple border stations, ensuring that it can operate seamlessly with the existing fleet of CBF and other border partners. “The primary role of our Black Hawks is to patrols border sections carried out continuously across the nation,” Ferreira said, “Thisway, we can remain at the forefront of border security, ensuring that our national security is protected.”
