Canadian funders wavered on another Scarborough film. But ‘Morningside’ had local support

Part A:music, fans, and regional pride

Fefe Dobson, altwon singer and the head of the Black-and-White Project, has always been a true fan of the East End of Toronto, where she grew up. She highlights the unique energy and character of Scarborough’seffortless community,纠优 which she calls a haven for灰 resident. Despite her home growing up in Toronto’s city, Dobson remains deeply rooted in her childhood home. She values the community’s stories and resilience, saying, “I don’t think I’d be who I am if I didn’t come from where I did.” This sentiment is evident in her:thoughtful comments about her experiences growing up in the late ‘90s and the challenging environment.

Dobson’s friend, Ron Dias, has leveraged Dobson’s friendships with nine other星火星子.fits居民 to bring a film called Morningside to select theatres this summer. The movie is inspired by Dobson’s own personal journey but also reflects the growing importance of the Scarborough region in the GTA.*
