Colorado Woman Disappears Mysteriously Days Before Thanksgiving: “It’s Extremely Suspicious”

On November 24, days before Thanksgiving, Jayna Lang, a 46-year-old woman from Colorado, mysteriously disappeared after sending a text message to her brother, indicating that she was heading to the Outlets at Silverthorne for some shopping. The message, sent at 11:17 a.m., marked the last known communication from Lang, leaving her family in profound worry and confusion. Her brother, Eric Horvat, expressed disbelief and concern, relaying that they never imagined she would go missing and they had absolutely no idea of her whereabouts. The gap of communication immediately raised red flags for her family and friends, who were startled by her sudden absence, especially given her routine of staying in contact.

Lang was last seen along with her vehicle, a 2016 white 4Runner SUV bearing a customized Colorado license plate that read “JAYNA.” Her family became increasingly anxious when her employer, “A Clip Above Pet Styling,” reached out to inquire about her absence after Lang failed to show up for work over several days. Horvat highlighted that she was expected at work the following Monday after her shopping trip, but persistent silence turned to alarm when there was no contact from her during the days that followed. To her family, such behavior was completely out of character; Horvat noted that his aunt spoke to Lang every day, making her disappearance all the more suspicious.

As the days passed with no sign of her, Lang’s family quickly mobilized in search efforts, emphasizing her love for the outdoors and her usual travels into the mountains, particularly in Park County, Colorado. The Park County Sheriff’s Office released a statement highlighting Lang’s affinity for these areas and circulated her photo alongside details of her SUV in an attempt to gather public assistance in locating her. The family received a possible lead when someone claimed to have spotted Lang’s vehicle traveling from Breckenridge to Keystone on Highway 6 the previous Wednesday, providing a glimmer of hope amidst their growing concern.

In the wake of her disappearance, Eric Horvat made a heartfelt public plea, urging anyone who might have seen her or her vehicle to come forward with information. He expressed a longing for her to return and reassured the public that they just wanted to know that she was safe. The family’s efforts to raise awareness about Lang’s disappearance highlighted not only their concern but a plea for community involvement, underscoring how essential it was that anyone traveling that route keep an eye out for her SUV.

Lang’s disappearance occurred against a troubling backdrop of other missing persons cases, notably the case of Hannah Kobayashi, who vanished earlier in November. Kobayashi was reported missing after failing to board a connecting flight in Los Angeles during her journey from Hawaii to New York. Her family has also faced tremendous adversity, including the tragic suicide of her father, Ryan Kobayashi, who apparently took his own life while searching desperately for information pertaining to his daughter’s whereabouts. Such circumstances add to the ongoing narrative about the heartbreak and challenges families endure during such crises.

As the Colorado community continues to rally behind the search efforts for both Lang and Kobayashi, the emotional toll on the families highlights the urgent need for answers. The mystery surrounding Lang’s sudden disappearance has left her family and friends in a state of unease, as they grapple with unanswered questions. They remain hopeful for any information that could lead them to her, inviting all who can assist to join in the search to bring Jayna home.
