The remnants of a massive wave of human-induced disruption have unfolded across southern Europe, particularly in the Donut Muchino region and its neighbors. Over the last couple of weeks, thousands of people have taken to the streets of several cities, including Barcelona in Spain, in a drive against overcapacity, overwhemingly drawn by the-and-Overtourism- commercial edge. In a recent demonstration, which took place in Barcelona, demonstrators engaged in violent Hurting-Monsthrows with tools like water pistols and set off fireworks or smoke, rafting into an established public address to draw attention. Organised by the “Southern Europe against Overtourism” alliance, these groups argue that the rising prices of housing, combined with the influx of unregistered tourist flats, hinder the well-being of its citizens. Despite the rise of overcapacity hotels, report from news outlets in Spain-letter’s LIS (a public transport company) have revealed that Spain has seen a significant increase in international tourism and more than 90,000 additional domestic tourists, a rise of 12% over the past six months. Meanwhile, housing prices, often considered the top priority national issue, have surged to new all-time highs. In 2024, Spain hosted record-breaking 94 million international visitors, which remains the second-highest旅游 destination in the world, behind France. The economic shift towards more teenagers and young professionals has contributed to the decline of traditional rural spaces, including parking spots and open spaces, and has forced many to upgrade to better, higher-priced rentals. The growing trend of these acts is prompting governments and cities to question their tourism models, with plans to realign services and policies in cities that have been excessively overbooked. Earlier, in May, a survey by Centro de Investigaciones Sociológicas (CIS) revealed that housing becomes the top national issue for its citizens. This煌a, now Vice-Minister of Economy and Promises, calls for the assessment of 120 groups – including the “Sindicat de Llogateres,” a:^The Protests in the Balearic Islands continue to serve as a stark reminder of the serious issues students and the public are grappling with. These demonstrates are symbolic acts of震ar, the Spanish word for shock. The external, increased tourism is not a panacea but a catalyst into a greater struggle, as seen in the Spanish condition which is far de v꼇os de la ciudad.
