The roar of engines may have quieted with the conclusion of the 2024 NHRA Drag Racing season, but the thrill of high-octane competition is far from over. January 2025 promises a full month of televised NHRA action, offering fans a chance to relive the most exciting moments of the past season and gear up for the upcoming year. This post-season programming, a tradition for the NHRA, serves as a bridge between seasons, keeping the spirit of drag racing alive during the off-season. From nail-biting finishes to spectacular crashes and record-breaking performances, January’s broadcast schedule provides a comprehensive look back at the highlights of 2024. This retrospective allows fans to catch races they may have missed or simply relive the adrenaline-pumping action from the comfort of their homes.

The NHRA, founded by Wally Parks in 1951, has cemented its place as a premier motorsport organization, boasting a rich history and a dedicated fanbase. Known for its diverse racing categories, including the nitro-fueled intensity of Top Fuel and Funny Car, and the precision engineering of Pro Stock, the NHRA continues to captivate audiences with its unique blend of speed, power, and competition. The January 2025 broadcast schedule reflects this diversity, featuring a mix of Lucas Oil Series races, showcasing the future stars of the sport, and the headline-grabbing Mission Foods NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle class. In addition to full race replays, the schedule also includes special programming like “Top 10 Moments” and “NHRA IN 30,” offering condensed, high-impact doses of racing excitement.

The partnership between the NHRA and FOX Sports, initiated in 2016 and renewed in 2021, continues to bring the excitement of drag racing to a broad audience. FOX Sports’ dedication to comprehensive coverage is evident in the January schedule, which leverages the reach of FS2 to deliver a wide array of NHRA content. This collaboration ensures that fans across the country can stay connected to the sport they love, even during the off-season. The broadcast schedule itself is a carefully curated blend of replays from different tracks and racing series, offering a varied and engaging viewing experience. From the Lucas Oil Series showcases at Norwalk and Seattle to the high-stakes competition at Sonoma and Brainerd, the January programming captures the essence of NHRA drag racing.

The January schedule is not merely a collection of random replays; it’s a strategically designed lineup that highlights the key moments and storylines of the 2024 season. The inclusion of “Top 10 Moments” programs allows fans to revisit the most dramatic finishes, incredible saves, and record-breaking performances. “NHRA IN 30” segments provide concise yet compelling glimpses into specific events, such as “They Walked Away,” which likely showcases drivers emerging unscathed from spectacular crashes, and “Top 5 Moments of the Countdown,” recapping the most pivotal moments of the championship chase. This curated approach ensures that viewers get a concentrated dose of the most exciting and memorable moments from the past season.

Beyond the January retrospectives, the full 2025 NHRA season promises another year of thrilling competition. The schedule, spanning from March to November, features a diverse range of events at iconic tracks across the United States. From the season-opening NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida, to the culminating In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals at Pomona, California, the 2025 season offers a coast-to-coast tour of high-octane action. The schedule includes fan-favorite events like the NHRA Arizona Nationals, the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals, and the prestigious Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals, all promising intense competition and edge-of-your-seat excitement.

The 2025 season also features the unique challenge of the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, held at both Las Vegas Motor Speedway and zMax Dragway in Charlotte. This format, where four cars race simultaneously down the track, adds an extra layer of complexity and excitement to the competition. Furthermore, the schedule incorporates a variety of track types, from the historic quarter-mile at Gainesville Raceway to the modern facilities at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, ensuring a diverse and challenging experience for the drivers. With a full slate of races at iconic venues across the country, the 2025 NHRA season promises to deliver another year of unforgettable drag racing action.
