The United Nations has announced that Latvian Foreign Affairs Minister Baiba Braže has announced that Latvia is ready to launch its first NPC (United Nations Security Council) term before January 2026. During her address to the U.N. General Assembly in New York City, Bragué emphasized that Latvia, as one of the 188 participating countries, has submitted its vote calling for afacetious stance to address the ongoing Ukraine-Russia and Israel-Hamas conflicts. She pointed to Latvia as a pivotal player in achieving a just and lasting peace for all parties involved, believing that its thwarting these conflicts could benefit the entire region.
