Authorities in northern New Jersey are currently investigating a series of mysterious drone sightings in close proximity to President-elect Trump’s Bedminster golf club. Over the past few weeks, multiple videos have emerged capturing these drone activities in Somerset and Morris counties, particularly on December 1 and December 3. Notably, a video recorded on November 25 by a Morris County resident, Mike Walsh, depicted three drones observed flying over Black River Middle School in Chester. Walsh’s remark, “I can see three drones right in this view,” underscores the concern generated by these sightings, especially given their proximity to the golf club situated just two miles south of the Morris County border.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) confirmed an unusual drone sighting in the skies of northern and central New Jersey on November 18. In response to these occurrences, the FAA has issued two temporary flight restrictions aimed at mitigating unauthorized drone operations in the area. One of these restrictions specifically targets the airspace above Trump National Golf Club, limiting drone flights until the end of the current week. The FAA’s directive also includes restrictions on the airspace above Picatinny Arsenal, a U.S. Army research facility, which will remain in effect until December 26. This proactive measure indicates heightened security due to the potential risks linked to the unidentified drones.

The FAA emphasizes the importance of safely integrating drones into the National Airspace System as a priority. They are committed to investigating all reports of unauthorized drone operations, and the current circumstances have prompted a thorough inquiry. On Wednesday, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed its involvement in the investigation, working in coordination with various agencies to uncover the circumstances surrounding these drone sightings. The collaborative effort by federal and local authorities reflects the serious nature of the incidents, especially given their location near critical sites such as the Trump golf club and the military base.

These drone sightings have sparked a mix of fascination and concern within the communities of Bernardsville, Mendham, Parsippany, and others. Residents have expressed curiosity about the drones’ purpose and origin, fueling speculation about potential surveillance activities or other illicit motives behind their presence. The nature of the drones—whether they are commercial, recreational, or associated with higher-level security operations—remains unclear. The public’s engagement with the issue highlights a broader anxiety regarding drone use and its regulation, particularly in populated and sensitive areas.

As investigations continue, many are awaiting further details from relevant authorities. Fox News Digital has reached out to several key organizations, including the FBI Newark field office, the New Jersey State Police, and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, to gather additional insights regarding the situation. The collective efforts of these agencies signify a comprehensive approach to addressing unauthorized drone activity and ensuring that airspace regulations are upheld, particularly in locations with significant national or political importance.

In summary, the ongoing investigation into the drone activity in northern New Jersey illustrates the challenges posed by emerging technologies in densely populated and politically sensitive areas. The collaboration among federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies underscores the importance of national security and public safety. As the FAA and other organizations refine their protocols for drone operations, the incidents surrounding the mysterious drones near Trump’s golf club serve as a critical case study in navigating these contemporary issues.
