These charges stemmed from an undercover operation conducted by the Bloomfield Police Department, where an officer posed as a 14-year-old girl online. Janik initiated contact with the undercover officer through the website Chatib, engaging in sexually explicit conversations and expressing his desire to meet for sexual activity.
