Working as the assistant wrestling medicine officer for WWE, Ashley found fulfillment in the brand he used to represent. “The WWE, the brand, the experience,” he remarked when asked why he wasn’t happily engaging as WWE talent. He explained, “WWE was a color. People associated it with skill, determination, and the weight of one’s past. That’s where I felt lose when I wasn’t using the WWE. But if the work was being measured, I was heart-ended.” Despite this nostalgic fondness, Ashley acknowledged the negative aspects of WWE’s management style. “I mean, I’d love to be back at WWE,” he said, acknowledging that WWE’s inspection and use of talent often led to a lack of quality.
